Terms of Service
These are the terms that govern your use of thefutureparty.org, including The Relay civic information tool at /relay. They are written in plain English because we believe the practice of making legal documents deliberately unreadable is itself a form of institutional failure.
What This Site Is
This website is operated by The Future Party PAC, an independent political action committee registered in Idaho with the Secretary of State. The site publishes our political platform, policy analysis, candidate resources, the donation flow and public ledger, and The Relay.
The Future Party PAC is not a government agency. It is not authorized by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any candidate or candidate's committee. Paid for by The Future Party PAC.
Who Can Use This Site
You can read public pages without creating an account or intentionally submitting personal information. Like most websites, basic technical information may still be processed to operate, secure, and measure the site.
To submit any form — contact, newsletter, donation, or a Relay message — you must be at least 13 years old. To make a donation, you must be at least 18 years old and meet the donor-eligibility requirements below. If you are using the site on behalf of someone else, you are responsible for their compliance with these terms.
Donations
Contributions to The Future Party PAC are political contributions, not purchases and not charitable donations. They are not tax-deductible.
Before checkout, we collect the donor information shown on the donate form, including your name, email, mailing address, occupation, employer, donor attestations, and amount. We use that information to process the donation, maintain PAC records, reconcile payments, and comply with campaign-finance obligations. Card details are collected separately by Stripe through its hosted checkout flow and do not pass through our servers.
By making a donation, you affirm that:
You are at least 18 years old. Federal law prohibits foreign nationals from making contributions or donations in connection with federal, state, or local elections; only U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents may contribute. This is not optional.
The contribution is made from your own funds. You are not being reimbursed for it. You are not making it on behalf of a corporation, labor organization, federal contractor, or other prohibited source, and you are not acting as a conduit for someone else's money.
You understand that contributions above the disclosure thresholds set by Idaho campaign-finance law will be reported to government agencies and may become part of the public record through those filings.
You understand that your donation amount, the date, and a display name (either "Anonymous" or your name if you opted in or if your contributions reach Idaho's disclosure threshold) will appear on our public donation ledger.
Donations are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms of service. We do not see or store your full card number.
Refunds are processed at the PAC's discretion. If a refund is issued, it appears as a negative entry on the public ledger. Nothing is hidden.
Submitting a false attestation to circumvent the foreign-national prohibition or any other contribution restriction is a federal crime.
The Public Ledger
The donation ledger at /donate/ledger is a public, append-only, cryptographically chained record. It is intended to be permanent — entries are not edited or removed in the normal course, because the chain is meant to detect tampering. The full chain is exposed as JSON for independent verification.
By donating, you consent to the publication of your donation amount, the date, and your display name on this ledger. Where Idaho campaign-finance law requires donor disclosure, your name will appear regardless of your display preference, and the additional information required by law will also be reported to government agencies.
Newsletter
By subscribing to the newsletter, you consent to receiving emails from The Future Party PAC. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email or emailing contact@thefutureparty.org. We comply with CAN-SPAM.
The Relay
The Relay is an experimental civic information tool. It may use public records, third-party data, automated processing, and language-model services to generate responses to questions about Boise-area civic topics. The Relay is in beta and may change, become unavailable, or be discontinued at any time.
The Relay is not a government service. It is operated by The Future Party PAC and is not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by any city, county, district, state, or other government body. Do not present its responses as official statements from any of them.
Responses may be incomplete, outdated, biased, or wrong. You are responsible for verifying important information against official sources before relying on it. Nothing The Relay produces is legal, tax, medical, financial, election-law, or other professional advice.
Acceptable Use
Do not use the site, The Relay, or any feature offered through them to:
Submit false information, including a false donor attestation.
Impersonate another person, candidate, organization, or government body, or present output of The Relay as having been produced or endorsed by anyone other than The Future Party PAC.
Generate threats, harassment, doxing, defamation, content that sexualizes minors, election disinformation, or synthetic media intended to be passed off as real statements by an identifiable person.
Submit Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, government IDs, health information, login credentials, or any other sensitive personal information about yourself or anyone else. The Relay and the forms on this site are not channels for sensitive data.
Scrape, bulk download, harvest, reverse engineer, or systematically extract site content, Relay responses, citations, prompts, or data structures to replicate, degrade, overload, or compete with the service.
Send automated, scripted, or bulk requests to the site; rotate IP addresses, browsers, or accounts to evade limits; or probe the site for vulnerabilities outside of good-faith security research disclosed to contact@thefutureparty.org.
Inject malicious code, attempt to bypass our security controls, or otherwise interfere with the operation of the site.
Use the site or The Relay in violation of these terms or any applicable law.
We may limit, throttle, suspend, block, or disable access for any user, network, or country at any time, without notice, to protect the integrity, availability, or safety of the site.
Content and Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise noted, the content, design, branding, copy, software, and related materials on this site are owned by The Future Party PAC or used with permission. All rights reserved.
You are free to quote, excerpt, and link to content on this site for purposes of commentary, criticism, news reporting, education, or political discussion. Attribution is appreciated but not legally required for fair use.
You may not republish entire articles or the platform document without permission. You may not use our name, logo, or branding to imply endorsement of your products, services, or candidacy without written authorization.
If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, email contact@thefutureparty.org with the URL of the material, identification of the original work, your contact information, and a statement that you are authorized to act for the rights holder. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Submissions and Feedback
When you submit a contact message, a correction or feedback about a Relay response, or any other voluntary submission, you grant The Future Party PAC permission to use the submission to operate, evaluate, improve, secure, and document the site and its features. We will not publish a submission with your identifying information attached unless you allow it or the law requires it.
You confirm that what you submit is yours to submit and does not infringe anyone else's rights. Do not submit content you do not have the right to share.
Third-Party Services
We use third-party providers to operate this site, including hosting, database, payment processing, transactional email, privacy-respecting aggregate analytics, and language-model infrastructure. The roles those providers play and the categories of data they receive are described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of features that depend on these providers is also subject to their applicable terms. These providers may use their own subprocessors under their own terms and privacy policies.
This site also links to third-party government, news, and informational sites. We do not control those destinations and we do not endorse them. Their terms and privacy practices apply once you follow a link off this site.
No Warranties
The site, The Relay, the public ledger, and every output of any of them are provided as-is and as-available. We do not guarantee uptime, availability, accuracy, completeness, currency, or freedom from defect or bias. We do not guarantee that any response generated by The Relay is correct or that any third-party data source is itself current. We are a volunteer-driven PAC, not a Fortune 500 company. We will fix things when they break, on a best-effort basis.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Future Party PAC and its officers, volunteers, and contributors are not liable for any damages arising from your use of this site or The Relay, including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages — and including any decision or action you or anyone else takes based on a Relay response. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Ada County, Idaho.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
